Treat your ears to something out of the ordinary.
Centered around an acoustic sound, we bring a light acoustic sound that blends Rock, Indie, Country and Jazz in a two-voice format. Simple and clean.
Falling Rock is musical group of friends focused on reviving Classic to Modern Rock music in an acoustic format. Slack-key, odd time signatures, open-tunings, and music that we know but the radio won’t play anymore … we find ’em and play them.
Our music picks focus on ‘b-sides and deep tracks’: … songs that don’t get much attention anymore from artists as diverse as Led Zeppelin, Donovan, The Kinks, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Allison Krauss, Dave Matthews, and more.

Who we are
Dave Shaw
A 3rd generation native surfer from Santa Cruz, CA Dave plays a variety of stringed instruments including guitar, mandolin and ukelele and has been playing and studying music and art since 4th grade. From school band to orchestra and on to Classic Rock, Jazz and Folk music, he is known for his unique approach to the fretboard – delving into open tunings and slack key arrangements.
A former firefighter and military bomb squad leader and retired Microsoft IT Security Architect – Dave takes refuge in his music and practice of traditional Chinese martial arts.
Lynne Plis
Lynne Plis is the definitive singer/song writer. She picked up guitar and mandolin later in life, fortunate to have learned from skilled musicians around the valley. Drawing from country, folk and jazz tradition, she writes about life and love. Her first music job was with an old time cowboy band, singing Patsy Cline tunes. She has played at most of the folk festivals, bistros, wine bars and dinner places around Arizona and is also a volunteer for Audrey’s Angels, enriching the lives of elderly folks in small group homes with her music. Her playlist covers nostalgic era, 60’s folk, soft rock, gospel, contemporary pop , new and old country. She has one country CD, titled Simple Music.
